Algebra I course outline

Algebra 1 learning targets

Target SG1: I can create graphs that model a relationship between two variables from written, verbal, or visual representations.

Target SG2: I can explain and interpret the reasoning behind the shape of a graph with respect to the context of the problem.

Target N1: I can graph, compare, and order real numbers.

Target N2: I can evaluate algebraic expressions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, absolute values, distribution, and combining like terms.

Target EI1: I can solve simple one-step equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Target EI2: I can solve and graph simple one-step inequalities using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Target L1: I can graph a line if given an equation in slope intercept form or point-slope form and find important information such as x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and slope.

Target L2: I can solve a system of linear equations by graphing the two lines on a coordinate plane and visually finding their intersection point, by using substitution, or by using elimination (sometimes called solving using addition).

Target L3: I can solve story problems using systems of equations.
