1st semester learning targets
Target Story Graphs 1: I can create graphs that model a relationship
between two variables from written, verbal, or visual representations.
Target SG2: I can explain and interpret the
reasoning behind the shape of a graph with respect to the context of the
problem.
Target Numbers 1: I can graph, compare, and order real numbers.
Target N2: I can evaluate algebraic expressions involving
addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, absolute values, distribution,
and combining like terms.
Target Equations & inequalities I1: I can solve simple one-step equations using
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Target EI2: I can solve and graph simple one-step
inequalities using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Target Linear functions 1: I can graph a line if given an equation in slope intercept
form or point-slope form and find important information such as x-intercepts,
y-intercepts, and slope.
Target Linear systems 2: I can solve a system
of linear equations by graphing the two lines on a coordinate plane and
visually finding their intersection point, by using substitution, or by using
elimination (sometimes called solving using addition).
Target Linear systems 3: I can solve story
problems using systems of equations.

Target LI1: I can graph linear inequalities.
Target LI2: I can graph a system of linear inequalities.
Target F1: I can identify domain and range of different problems to determine if the context represents a function.
Target Exponents 1: I can simplify algebraic expressions involving exponents using the properties of exponents.
Target E2: I can graph exponential functions
Target E3: I can solve application problems such interest rate over time, population growth and exponential growth/decay problems using exponential models.
Target Radical 1: I can simplify and evaluate radical expressions.
Target Quadratic 1: I can graph quadratic functions in general form and find important information about the function such as vertex, x-intercepts, y-intercepts, domain and range.
Target Q2: I can find the zeros of a quadratic function by factoring.
Target Q3: I can find the solutions of a quadratic function using the quadratic formula.
