Accounting II

Week of April 29, 2024

We will continue to work on chapter 15.  Starting with the cash budget in sections 15-3, work together and application. Then we will work on sections 15-4, which is about a performance report.  Once those are done we will work on the mastery problem.  That could take us the rest of the week.  If not, we will work on the sample test or other review.

Week on April 22, 2024

We took more time from the past week and then started on chapter 15.  This chapter is mainly on budgeting and cash.  We will work on section 1 and section 2.  Which will include a sales budget, purchases budget, expenses budgets, and a budgeted income statement.
That should include 15-1 and section 15-2 work together and applications. 

Week of April 15, 2024

We will spend a day finishing the reinforcement activity then we will begin our new chapter.
The rest of the week we be spent on chapter 15, budgeting.  We should get through the first two sections, completing the work togethers, on you owns, and applications.
Students should be on the third section by friday but possibly not complete with it yet.

Week of April 8, 2024

We will spend this week on chapter 14.  Finishing the mastery problem, any other cash flows statements, the study hall problems, and then the practice test.  We should try to do at least one t-account quiz this week.  If we get done with everything, we will have our Assessment on Friday.

Week of April 1, 2024

We will on Chapter 14 this week.  Beginning work on a cash flows statement.  There are two main sections to this chapter.  We will complete each section, the practice problems, and the applications with each section.  Then we will begin the mastery problem.

Week of March 18, 2024

We will firsts finish the parts of the reinforcement activity that we are capable of completing.  That should be step 1, 3 (most of it), and step 4.  Once that is done we will spend some time review t-accounts and take a quiz late in the week.

Week of March 11, 2024

We will finish chapter 13 early in the week and then prepare for the assessment.  The assessment will take a little more than one class period to complete.  Once that is done, we will start the reinforcement activity that is after chapter 14.  We will  only do a section of it.

Week of March 4, 2024

We will continue working on chapter 13 this week.  Beginning with the second section of the chapter and then the third.  We will discuss the ratios and their importance.  Then we will do the work together and application for each section.  We may work on parts of the on your own problems.  Once that is complete we will work on the mastery problem.  Depending on the results, we will either work on a review problem or work on the sample test.  If things go quickly we will possibly take our chapter test on Friday.  If not, then it will be early the following week.

Week of February 26, 2024

We will finish chapter 12 first.  Completing the assessment and any other work.  Then we will work on chapter 13.  We should finish the first three sections for sure, completing the work together, some of the on your owns, and the applications.  We will have some notes over the formulas and ratios that will be used in this chapter.  If we manage to get the first three sections done we will work on the last section.  An assessment over this chapter we not be until the following week.

Week of February 19, 2024

We will work on chapter 12 this week.  We have one more section to complete.  Then we will work on the mastery problem, the study hall problems, and possible a review problem.  Then we will take the practice test and finally the assessment.  We should do the assessment on Friday.  

Week of February 12, 2024

We will work on Monday on Super bowl ads and the financial impact on the super bowl. Then we will spend the rest of the week on chapter 12.  We should get at least the first two sections completed.  Each section we will complete the work together, on your own, and the application.  We will have some notes this chapter.  We should probably get section three done as well.

Week of February 5, 2024

We will finish chapter 11 this week.  Complete some notes to begin the week.  Then we will work on the mastery problem.  Students will get additional programs to work on before we have an assessment.  We will spend some time this week on a merger activity.  Once those are complete we will take our sample assessment and then the actual assessment.  Those should as be completed by Thursday.  Once they are we will start a new activity.


Week of January 29, 2024

We will finish chapter 10 this week.  Reviewing on Monday and taking the practice test.  Then on Tuesday we will take the A test and  finish anything else from that chapter.  Once that is done, we will spend the rest of the week on chapter 11.  We will try and get the three section of the chapter done this week.  Completing the work together and the application for each section.  We might do some of on your own problems as well.  We will finish that chapter up the following week.

Week of January 22, 2024

This week we will be working on Chapter 10, which is on corporations.  There are only two sections in this chapter and they will go pretty fast.  But we will be adding some to what the book discusses.  We will do the work togethers, on your owns, and applications for each section.  Along with a few other things involving stocks and corporations.  We will get complete the mastery problem for the chapter as well.  Students will also have a t-account quiz that is on the back on the review from the past week.  That quiz will be Wednesday or Thursday.  If we complete everything we will work on some of the study hall problems as well as the sample test.

Week of November 13, 2023

We will spend the beginning of this week finish chapter 5.  We will have our assessment on Tuesday.  Then we will work on chapter 6 the rest of the week.  It has three sections, one of them is very short.  We should get through each section, complete the work together and application for those sections and start the mastery problem.  An assessment over chapter 6 should be on the following Tuesday.

Week of November 6, 2023

We will spend this week working on chapter 5.  It is on inventory and the different methods used to determine inventory.  We will get all the sections done this week.  Students should complete the work together for each section and the application problem for the section.  We should get to the mastery problem for the chapter this week as well.  We may spend a little time of a stock market activity.  The assessment on chapter 5 should be early the following week.

Week of October 30, 2023

We will spend a good portion of this week finishing the reinforcement activity.  We will start chapter 5 and do the first section.  Completing the work together and on your own before completing the application.

Week of October 23, 2023

We will spend the entire week on the reinforcement activity.  Students will be given a time schedule to help them keep on track with completing the activity.  This week they should get to at least step 15 in the problem.  With the goal of getting to step 17 this week.   We hope to finish the activity early the following week.  

Week of October 16, 2023

We will work on Chapter 4 and then take the sample test and the Test A for our Assessment.  We should get that done by Wednesday.  Once that is done we will start a major project that should take at least a week to do.  It is the Reinforcement Activity after chapter 4.

Week of October 9, 2023

We will finish any work on the past application, review t-accounts (quiz thursday or Friday), work on the accounting cycle, and then work on the mastery problem for chapter 4. Once that is done we will work on other problems for review.  Our test over this chapter will be early next week.

Week of October 2, 2023

We will begin the week working on section 3. That involves using the adjusted trial balance, and other things, to work on an Income Statement, Statement of Stockholder's Equity, Balance Sheet, and a Cash Flow Statement.  Once these are done, we will work on closing entries and a post-closing trial balance.  We will do some work with the accounting cycle.  If we get the chance we may start the mastery problem.  

Week of September 25, 2023

We will be working on parts of chapter 4 this week.  We will start with adjustments, and adjusted trial balances.  Then we will work on Departmental Marginal income statements.
That should get us through the first two sections.  If we get those done, we will work on the next section of the chapter.

Week of September 18, 2023

We will finish chapter 3 this week.  Beginning with the mastery problem and then working on some of the study hall material, then the b test for practice.  Once that is complete we will work on the A test for chapter 3.  We should work on that on Thursday and complete any other work on Friday.

Week of September 11, 2023

We will first finish the Assessment from chapter 2.  Then we will begin chapter 3, on payroll for departmental business.  We will spend the rest of the week on this chapter.  Students should complete the first two applications for sure but we will spend a lot of time on payroll registers and how to determine all the deductions and complete the register.  We will continue this chapter the following week.  It is a lengthy chapter.

Week of September 4, 2023

This week we will work on chapter 2.  Completing the mastery problem, working on the supplement problem for the transactions, then working on the practice test.  Once those are done we will work on the A test.  If we do not finish it on Friday we will complete it on Monday.

Week of August 28, 2023

We will take our Assessment on Tuesday for chapter 1.  Then we will spend the rest of the week on chapter 2.  We will complete both of the sections for the chapter.  Students should complete the work together for both sections and then the applications for both sections.  Once those are done we will work on the mastery problem.  That should take the rest of the week.  

Week of August 21, 2023

We will spend this week on Chapter 1.  First we will introduce the cash payments journal.  Next we will work on some sample transactions before we do the application.  We will not post this problem.  Then we will work on the mastery problem for this chapter.  Once that is  complete we will do some review work.  It is possible to have a test on Thursday or Friday.

Week of August 14, 2023

Institute days for the beginning of the week.
We will do review problem and general beginning of the year work
Then we will complete application 1-1 and 1-2.
We will discuss the purchases journal and the general journal.  Completing a sample problem and  review t-account balances.




Week of May 8, 2023

We will finish up chapter 16 and take our assessment on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Then we will work on a few individual topics from the chapter.  We will then finish anything we need to complete before the end of the week.  Once that is complete we will work for reviewing for the final.  Possibly a t-account quiz this week.

Week of May 1, 2023

We will work on chapter 16 this week.  There is one section left to complete and once that is done we will work on the mastery problem.  Next we will work on the study hall problems and the sample test.  We should have a test early next week or perhaps Friday.

Week of April 24, 2023

We will work on Xello for the first part of the week.  Students will be given a checklist of items that they will need to complete.  Then we will probably add more to the list if we can find the time to do so.  Once that is complete we will begin chapter 16.  We should get at least the first section of the chapter complete.  Including the work together, on your own, and application for that section.  We may go to the next section if time permits.


Week of April 17, 2023

We will continue to work on chapter 15. First we will complete any review we need, possible 15-4 on your own.  Then we will go back to the mastery problem that we previously started.  Once that is complete we will work on the study hall sections and then finally work on test 15B for practice.  Once that is complete we will take the 15 A Test for our assessment.  That assessment should be on Thursday.  

Week of April 10, 2023

We will review part of chapter 15 first, then we will continue to work on the mastery problem.  We may do some of the on your own problems for review.  Then once we have done this we will work on the study guide problems and then the sample test.  We should have our test early the following week.

Week of March 27, 2023

We will work on chapter 15 this week.  Beginning with finishing 15-2 application, then we will work on section 15-3.  It is cash receipts and cash payments budgets.  We will complete the work together and the application for this section.  Then we will complete section four, which is the performance review section of the chapter.  We will complete the work together and the application for this section as well.  Then we will work on the mastery problem.  If we get everything done, we will try and have an assessment on Friday.  

Week of March 20, 2023

We will finish the reinforcement activity early this week.  Should be done during the day on Tuesday.  Then we will start the next chapter, chapter 15.  It is on budgeting and planning for a company.  We will do at least the first two sections this week and probably the 3rd.  Student will work on a sales budget, purchase budget, and then throwing in other cost to get a budgeted income amount.  We may start the mastery problem on Friday.

Week of March 13, 2023

We will have our test over chapter 14 on Monday.  Then we will spend the rest of this week, and probably next week, working on a reinforcement activity that covers the last five chapters.  The first part will be transactions, then we will get to different ratios and forms that we have done.

Week of March 6, 2023

We will be working on chapter 14 this week.  We will complete the second section and then be finished with the cash flows statement.  Student will complete the work together, on your own, and application for that section.  Once that is finished we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Then complete the study hall problems and finally work on the sample test.  We should take the assessment on Friday for chapter 14.

Week of February 27, 2023

We will finish chapter 13 early this week.  Taking the assessment part of the day on Monday and finishing it on Tuesday.  Once that is complete we will work on chapter 14.  We will do at least the first two sections this week.  Completing the work together, on your own, and application for each section.  Once those are complete we may work on the third section.  We will discuss each section before we work on it.

Week of February 20, 2023

We will work on chapter 13 this week.  The first task we will complete is finishing section 13-3.  Completing the application for that section.  Then we will work on section 13-4, completing the work together and the application.  Possible work on an on your own sections as well.  Once we get those finished we will work on the mastery problem for this chapter.  If we get a chance, we will work on preparing for the test and the sample test.

Week of February 13, 2023

We will first discuss the super bowl ads.  Using the USA today ad meter we will look at the ratings of them, discuss the ads, and then compare them to past ads.  We will compare some of the old ones and discuss the favorites.  This week we will also spend time on the business ideas created from the CVE class, we may narrow the ideas down. 
Along with this, we will work on chapter 13.  First finish the work together and the application for 13-1.  Then we will discuss section 2, record the formulas and work on the work together and the application for section 2. Students will take a t-account quiz as well.  If we get past these sections, we will do the same for section 13-3.

Week of February 6, 2023

We will do review problems for chapter 12 on Monday.  Then we will take our assessment on Tuesday.  Once that is complete we will begin chapter 13.  We will discuss each section and do the work together and the application for the sections we complete.  We should get the first two sections done for sure.  If so we will start the 3rd.

Week of January 30, 2023

We will work on Chapter 12 this week.  We will spend the first few days going through each section of the chapter and doing the work together and application for each section. We will probably do the on your own problems for each section as well.  Then we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Once those are complete we will do the study guide problems and the sample test.  We could have a test on Friday.

Week of January 23, 2023

We will work on Chapter 11 this week.  Students will complete section 11-2 and 11-3.  They will complete the work together, on your own, and application problems.  Then they will work on the mastery problem.  Once that is done we will work on study guide problems and the sample test.  Probably taking the assessment on Friday.
We could work on a few short other sections from this chapter, involving mergers and stock splits.

Week of January 16, 2023

This week we will first finish chapter 10 and take the test over it.  We will quickly do the on your own sections of 10-1 and 10-2 for review then we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Once that is complete we will work on part of the study hall problems.  Then we will work on the sample test and finally test A for this chapter.  If we get all of this done before Friday, we will begin the next chapter.

Week of January 9, 2023

This week we will work on finishing the reinforcement activity first.  Then once that is done we will begin working on chapter 10.  Students will complete a vocabulary sheet and then we will work on the first section on the chapter.  We will do the work together and the application problem.  After that is complete we will work on the 10-2 section.  Completing the work together and application for that section.  We will also have two t-account quizzes this week.

Week of December 12, 2022

We will work on chapter 9 this week and then review for finals.  We will cover the second and third section of the chapter, completing the work together and the application for each section.  Then we will work on the mastery problem and probably do some work on t-accounts.  After that we will spend the last of the week reviewing for finals.  We will work on two sections of b tests.

Week of December 5, 2022

We will work on Chapter 8 this week and should have an assessment on it on Thursday.  We will finish the second section on Monday, reviewing it and working on the application and the on your own problem.  We might work on another example from that section too.  Once that is done we will work on the 3rd section of the chapter, completing the work together problem and the application.  Then we will work on the mastery problem and possibly some of the study hall material before we work on the sample test.  We should be able to have the assessment on Thursday. Friday at the latest.  Then we will start chapter 9.  It will be the last material we cover before our final.

Week of November 28, 2022

We will work on chapter 6 this week.  We will work on the last two sections of the chapter.  Working mainly on the allowance method.  Doing the work together and the applications for each section.  Then we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Applications 6-2, 6-3 and the mastery problem. We may spend some time on the study hall material for the chapter as well. Once that is done we will work on the practice test and finally take the A test.  If we can get the test done early, we will start a new chapter on Friday.

Week of November 21, 2022

We will do the test for chapter 7.  Taking the A version of it.  If we get the chance we will do one section of chapter 6.  The direct write-off method and do the application and the work together that accompanies it.

Week of November 14, 2022

We will work on Chapter 7 this week.  Beginning with section 4, finding different ways to determine depreciation.  Sum of years digits, double declining balance, mileage etc and how they differ from one another.  We will do the application and work together.  Once those are done we will work on the mastery problem and possible other examples of problems from the chapter.  We should take a test over the chapter late in the week (thursday or friday).  If we get time we will work on chapter 6 for one day.

Week of November 7, 2022

We will finish chapter 5 on Monday.  Taking the Chapter 5 test.  Once then we will work on chapter 7 and save chapter 6 until later.  We will work on the first three section of chapter 7 this week.  Completing the work together and the application for each section.  The chapter starts with buying plant assets, then goes to figuring depreciation using straight line method,  and finally we will work on buying, selling and trading plant assets.

Week of October 31, 2022

We will work on chapter 5 this week. It centers on inventory.  We will start with discussing inventory and what is included in it and do 5-1 work together and application.  Then we will discuss different ways to figure inventory (FIFO, LIFO, and weighted average).  Working on the work together and application for that section.  Once that is complete we will work on estimating ending inventory using the gross profit method and the retail method. That is section 3.  There should be some notes with this chapter as well.  If we get all the sections done we will begin working on the mastery problem for the chapter.  It is possible to get all the section done and the mastery this week.

Week of October 24, 2022

Students should be done with the transactions and posting from the activity.  Hopefully done or close with the journal proving.  Then we should work on the adjustments, post them, and complete the adjusted trial balance.  Next we should get the Income before taxes and determine that adjustment.  Once that is complete we should work on the financial statements that are next.  If we get all of that accomplished, we will do the closing entries and then the post closing trial balance.  We will probably spend all week on this problem.

Week of October 17, 2022

We will spend this week on a reinforcement activity.  It will start with transactions that will go in the journals.  Once that is complete we will finish posting anything that needs to be posted individually or as a total.  Students will prove the journals as well.  Once that is complete we will work on financial statements.  Starting with trial balances.  Making adjustments that should occur at the end of a fiscal period, including finding net income and making that adjustment.  Then we will continue with other financial statements in the problem.  We will spend the entire week on this problem.  


Week of October 10, 2022

We will finish chapter 4 this week.  The first part of the week will be spent working on the mastery problem from the chapter.  Once that is done we will review and work on the sample test for the chapter.  After that is done we will work on the A test.  We may add something to the A test that the computer offers.  If not we may start a large reinforcement activity that will take more than a week to complete.

Week of October 3, 2022

We will continue work on Chapter 4 this week.  We will start with a cash flow statement to finish the third section and then complete the work together and application with it. Then we will work on the last section of chapter 4, completing the work together and application.  Once those are complete we will spend the rest of the week on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Test will be next week.

Week of September 26, 2022

We will introduce chapter 4 and then begin work.  First section is on adjustments, finding them, posting them, and completing an adjusted trial balance.  Then we will begin the next section that starts financial statements.  This begins with departmental margin statements. After those we will get to other financial statements; income statements, statements of stockholders equity, and statements of cash flows.  Those are the first three sections of the chapter.  We will do the work together with each section before doing the applications.  We should be on the third section of the chapter by the end of the week.


Week of September 19, 2022

We will finish up chapter 3 on departmental payroll this week.  First we will complete the mastery problem then we will work on the source document problem.  Once those are done we will spend sometime on the study guide problems this chapter provides.  Next we will work on the practice test for the chapter and then finally take Test A for our assessment grade for the chapter.

Week of September 12, 2022

We will work on chapter 3 this week.  It is departmental payroll.  We will begin discussing types of pay and finding gross and net pay.  Then we will work on a payroll register. And finally end with payroll transactions.
Students will complete the work together for each section before going onto the applications.  We may do an on your own as well.  We should get through both sections this week and do the applications for each of them.  Once that is complete we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  


Week of September 5, 2022

We will finish chapter 2 this week and take our assessment.  On Tuesday we will work on the source document application then start the practice test.  We will finish the practice test on Wednesday and review for our assessment.  We will take the assessment on Thursday and probably part of the hour on Friday.  After the assessment we will do t-account review and introduce the next chapter.

Week of August 29, 2022

Students will complete their first test on the year on Monday.  Then we will finish a source document problem from the first chapter.  Once that is complete we will work on chapter 2.
Chapter 2 is on the sales journal (for different departments) and on recording sales returns and allowances.  Once that is complete we will discuss collecting money for sales and on
account.  And how to record a debit memorandum in the general journal.  Then post.
We will work on the work together for sections one and two.  Then we will work on the application for each section.  This week we should complete the two sections and the applications that accompany them.  If we get all of it done we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.



Week of August 22, 2022

We will continue on chapter 1.  Complete purchases journal and posting then go to the cash payments journal.  We will work on a work together problem and then do applications.  We will do applications 1-2, 1-3, and the mastery problem.  Then we will work on the source document problem for chapter 1.  Once those are complete we will review and work on the sample test for this chapter.

The main part of this week will be spent on reviewing for the final and taking the final.  There still are parts of chapter 15 that could have been completed as well.
We will work on the b test and a budget problem similar to what we did in chapter 15.  Once those are complete we will spend some time on the next chapter (juniors)

May 9, 2022

We will finish chapter 15 this week and take our assessment on it.  First we will finish the mastery problem.  Then we will work on the sample test for chapter 15.  We will spend the SIP day on Wednesday starting the assessment and then finishing it on Thursday.  We will do a separate activity on Friday and start reviewing for the final next week.

May 2, 2022

We will continue on chapter 15.  We should finish up section two on Monday and work on section three.  Section three is on cash receipts and cash payments.  We will spend a few days on it.  We will complete the work together, on your own, and the application.  Then we will finish up the last section of the chapter and do the same practice work and applications.  Once that is complete we will work on the mastery problem.  If we get all of that done we will work on the sample test.  I believe we will test on Chapter 15 the following week.

April 25, 2022

We will work on Chapter 15 this week.  First a quick review of the first section and finishing anything needed.  Then we will go to the second section and work on expense budgets and the budgeted income statement.  We will do the work together and application for the section (might do part of the on your own problem).  Then we will work on the third section, cash budgets, working on cash receipts and cash payments.  Then finally proving cash.  And completing the application for this section as well as the work together.  We may work on the last section if we have time.  It will be on performance reports.  We will have an assessment  during the following week.



Week of April 18, 2022

We did not get as far on the reinforcement activity as I thought we would.  We will continue to work on it this week.  We should be done with it on Wednesday or Thursday.  We will start chapter 15 when we are done, or close to done, with the reinforcement activity.  Chapter 15 centers around budgeting and forecasting a budget.  We will work on the first section of the chapter.  Trying to complete the work together and the application.  We may do part of the on your own problem.


Week of April 11, 2022

We will work on the reinforcement activity that is after chapter 14.  There are four sections on it and we will work on them for the week.  Students should be able to get done with at least three of the four sections this week.  We will work on it for the three days that we meet this week.  You should find your old ratio formulas to help you on the third section.


Week of April 4, 2022

We will finish up chapter 14 this week and then begin a large reinforcement activity.  Students will complete the challenge problem for the chapter.  Then we will work on the sample test.  We will do other problems for review and work on ways to review for the assessment.  We should take the assessment on Wednesday or Thursday.  And then begin the reinforcement activity together.  

Week of March 28, 2022

We will work on chapter 14 this week.  It is on cash flows.  We will begin with an intro to the chapter and then start working on the sections.  The sections deal with cash flow from operating activities, investments, and financial activities.  We will do the work togethers and probably the on your owns for each section before we work on the applications.  We should get all three sections done this week and possibly put all the sections together by the end of the week.  

Week of March 14, 2022

We will continue to work on chapter 13 this week.  Students should finish the mastery problem Monday and work on a matching vocabulary sheet that will help them for the assessment.  We will work on some of the on your own example that we have not done yet.  Then we will work on the b test for review and discuss how to best prepare for the problem part of the test and the large number of ratios to deal with.  We should work on the A test on Wednesday and Thursday this week.




Week of March 7, 2022

We will work with the ratio's and formulas on chapter 13 during this week.  We will work on section 13-2 on Monday.  Students should complete the outline Monday or Tuesday.  We should also finish our t-account quizzes by Tuesday as well.  For each section we work on we will complete at least the work together and the application.  We come back and work on the on your own at a later time.  Once we complete section three we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  If we happen to get everything completed we will start reviewing and then have our assessment, if not then we will do the assessment next week.

Week of February 28, 2022

We will begin the week finishing up the test from chapter 12.  We will also have t-account quizzes this week on the review sheet we did.  Having a quiz on the front half and on the back half of the sheet.  Those quizzes will be sometime wednesday thru Friday.  We will work on chapter 13 for most of the week.  It is on financial statements.  Students should complete the first section for sure and probably the second.  We should do the work together and the application for both of those sections if we can get through them.




Week of February 21, 2022

We will complete the last section of chapter 12 first.  Completing the work togethers, on your own and application.  Then we will review the chapter and work on the mastery problem.  We may have other notes to help with this chapter.  Once these are done we will work on the b test and then try and complete the A test this week.  If we get that done we may work some on T-accounts. Having a quiz next week on them.

Week of February 14, 2022

We will work on Chapter 12 this week.  Starting with section 2 and then section 3.  We will do the work together and the on your own and then the applications.  Then we will work on the mastery problem.  We may take some notes on the chapter as well.  Once these are done we will review for the test by taking the b test and then take the A test.
We will spend some time on Monday on the super bowl ads.  Discussing the cost and rankings of the ads that were shown.  Had TWO SNOW days this week.

Week of February 7, 2022

After the three snow days last week we will continue.  We will finish chapter 11.  Completing the third section and with it the practice problems and the application.  We will also work on topics from stock splits to mergers.  Then we will finish the mastery problem, review for the assessment and take the assessment.  Once that is complete we will either work on t-accounts that are new or we will begin the next chapter.



Week of January 31, 2022

We will spend this week working on chapter 11.  It continues corporate accounting.  The first section is on dividends, cash and stock.  The second section covers treasury stock, what it is and how to record the buying and selling of it.  And the final section of the chapter is on purchasing and selling stock from other corporations.  We will do all three sections this week.  Completing the work togethers and most of the on your own parts before we work on the applications for each section.  There are other activities in each section that we will spend time on as well.  Once those are completed we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  We should complete the chapter this week and possibly even complete the practice test as well.  An assessment could be as early as Friday but will likely be the following week.

Week of January 24, 2022

First we will finish chapter 10.  Completing the test A assessment.  Then we will make sure we have all chapter applications done and submitted.  Next, we will be sure the old reinforcement activity is done and submitted.  Then we will probably start chapter 11.  And complete the first section or two of the chapter.


Week of January 17, 2022

This week we will work on Chapter 10.  It is the first chapter in the corporate accounting section of the book.  This chapter is an introductory chapter and only has two sections.  We should finish both sections, the work togethers and on your owns for the sections and the applications as well.  We will probably do the mastery problem as well.  We will have an assessment over it early the following week.

Week of January 10, 2022

We will finish chapter 9 up early in the week.  Reviewing on Monday and doing the review test, Test B.  Then we will take the A test on Tuesday.  Once that is complete we will work on a reinforcement activity for most of the rest of the week.  It was from the past four chapters.  We may spend time on accounts, balances, and classifications too.  If we get done early, we will start chapter 10.

Week of January 3, 2022

We will have a short review before we begin the new chapter.  The new chapter will be chapter 9.  It will cover unearned revenue, accrued revenue and installments.  There are three sections to this chapter.  We should get all three sections done this week.  We will complete the work together and application for each section and probably a few of the on your owns.  

Week of December 13, 2021

Complete parts of the reinforcement activity.  Work on sample test for the final.  Part 1 test b and part 2 test b.  We will also review account balances and classifications.
Complete any old work for the semester.  Our final will be on Monday.


Week of December 6, 2021
We will complete chapter 7 on plant assets this week.  Students will work on the mastery problem and complete any other applications in the chapter.  We will go over the practice test and then students will take the A test.  If they have any problems to finish they should get then completed this week.  Once the test is done we will work on part of the reinforcement activity after chapter 9.  I will give them sections of the problem to work on and some hints to use.  Possibly working on t-accounts and/or part of a video.

Week of November 29, 2021

We will spend this week on chapter 7 and plant assets.  First we will learn how to journalized them and set up a plant asset record.  Once that is done we will work on depreciation of plant assets.  Mainly using straight-line method before we work with other methods of depreciation.  And then we will work on disposing of plant assets.  Not only the transactions but also the change to the plant asset record.  If we get all this done this week and the applications and practice work with them then we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.

Week of November 22, 2021

We will take our practice test for chapter 8, and then take the A test on Tuesday.  We will also finish any work we need to do on the chapter.

Week of November 15, 2021

We will take our chapter 6 assessment on Monday.  Then we will spend the rest of the week on a new chapter.  We will skip chapter 7 until after thanksgiving and work on chapter 8 before thanksgiving.  There are three sections for chapter 8 we will try complete all the sections and the mastery problem this week.  There are many new items in this chapter so we may have to spend time on notes or extra problems.  If we get a chance we will spend part of Friday on the practice test.

Week of November 8, 2021

We finished chapter 5 and took the test on Monday.  Then we will spend the rest of the week on Chapter 6.  It is a very short chapter.  We will finish all three section this week, the mastery problem and the practice test.  Probably completing a few of the other practice problems as well.  We will do the work togethers as usual and the applications with each section.

Week of November 1, 2021

We will spend this week on chapter 5.  We will start with section 2 and discuss FIFO, LIFO and weighted averages.  We will complete the work together and the application for it.  After this we will work on section 3 .  If we get that section done we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  A test will not be until the following week.

Week of October 25, 2021

We will spend the first part of this week still working on the large reinforcement activity, but by Wednesday will be at least be starting chapter 5.  This chapter deals with inventory and different ways to value your inventory.  We will complete section 1 and the application with it and then work on section 2 the rest of the week.  Section 2 deals with FIFO, LIFO and Weighted average.  We will get as far as we can on this section and the work together and application on this section.  I will set a future date for the reinforcement activity to be done to have a chance to earn for credit on it.


Week of October 18, 2021

We will still be working on the reinforcement activity this week.  Students should have been through all of the transactions and at least totalling the journal.  They should have been posting part of last week as well.  This week we will finish posting the journals, complete the schedules of accounts payable and receivable and then begin end of the period work.  That will include adjusting entries, posting them, and then begin the financial statements.  It is possible to get done with the rest of the problem this week if things go really well.  If not we will either continue for a few days or make a due date for the following friday.


Week of October 11, 2021

This week we will work on a major reinforcement activity.  This activity review what the students have learned this year.  It begins with transactions in journals, adding and proving the journals, posting the journals, performing adjusting entries, completing financial statements, and closing entries.  We will spend time on it for at least two weeks.

Week of October 4, 2021

We will finish chapter 4 this week and take our assessments over it.  Students will work on the mastery problem on Monday.  We will review the b test on Tuesday and continue any other work.  Then we will complete the A Test.  Any other time will be spent finishing any other problems that have not been completed up until this time.

Week of September 27, 2021

We will spend this week on Chapter 4, mainly working on financial statements.  Students will complete the 4-3 work together and the application that goes with it.  We will work on income statements, statement of stockholders equity, balance sheets, and cash flows statements.  We will spend a little more time on cash flow statements since it is new to us.  Once we are done with it we will work on closing entries and posting them.  That is the fourth section of the chapter.  We should get section 4 done, work together and application, this week as well.  I hope to work on the mastery problem on Friday.  


Week of September 20, 2021

This week we will work on chapter 4.  It is a large chapter that covers many financial statements.  There are four sections to this chapter.  Each section we will do the work together and the application.  We may do some of the on your own for addition work.  We should get through the two sections easily and be on the 3rd section.  The 3rd section has many financial statements on it so we may not get through it before the end of the week.  If things go well, we should be on the 3rd section and the application problem at the end of the week.

Week of September 13, 2021

We will do a quick review of what we have done so far in chapter 3. Then we will finish any of the work together 3-2 and proceed to the 3-2 application problem.  After completing it we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Students will then work on the practice assessment and finish any other work for chapter 3 before we work on the Test A Assessment for chapter 3.  We should finish this chapter this week.

Week of September 6, 2021

We will work on chapter 3 this week. It is on payroll for a departmentalized company.  Students will use a time card, and commission record to find gross pay.  Then they will be shown how to find deductions from gross pay and then eventually find net pay.  They will record all of this information on a payroll register.  We will be using withholding tables and percents to find deductions.  Students will also be introduced to an employees earnings record.  We will spend most of the week on this.  If we get that done we will work on Journalizing the payroll register and making an entry in the general journal.  We will work on work togethers and applications for these activities.


Week of August 30, 2021

We will work on chapter 2 this week.  It will be the sales journal, general journal, and cash receipts journal.  We will do this for a departmentalized business.  Students will complete 2-1 and 2-2 work togethers.  They will also complete 2-1, 2-2, and the mastery problem.  We will post of parts of a problem.  Once those are complete we will do a sample assessment problem.  Our assessment on Chapter 2 should be on Friday.


August 23, 2021

We will work on chapter 1 for most of the week.  We will still review account balances and account classifications.  Students will complete the mastery problem for the chapter and work on the posting parts of the other problems.  We will then review for an assessment.  The assessment should be on Wednesday or Thursday.  If our computer software is available this week we will spend time getting into the system and may use it some this week. If we get the opportunity we will begin chapter 2 on Friday.






Week of August 16, 2021

We will take care of beginning of the year paperwork and procedures first.  Then we will start reviewing some information from last year.  We will do multiple review sheets that involved finding the normal balance and the account classifications for accounts.  Once that is done we will begin chapter 1 and continue to review.  For chapter 1 this week we will do the vocabulary and then we will begin working on the chapter.  Chapter 1 involves journalizing and posting transactions for a departmentalized accounting system,  we will be using a purchases journal, a general journal, and a cash payments journal. We will do some practice and then work on applications.  This chapter we will do application 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, and the mastery problem. This week we should complete at least the first few applications.












We will finish chapter 15 this week.  Taking the practice test on Tuesday and finishing any problems in the chapter and then taking the actual test on Thursday.

Week of May 10, 2021

We will work on chapter 15 this week.  Starting with finishing section 15-2.  We will finish the work together and then go to the application.  We will complete the different schedules and then work on the budgeted income statement.  Once that is complete we will work on section 15-3.  That section is on cash receipts and cash payments.  We will complete the work together and application for this section as well.  We should work on the mastery problem as we complete the sections.  If we can we will finish all the sections and the mastery problem this week.  We want to test over this chapter next week on Thursday.

Week of May 3, 2021

We will take our test over chapter 14.  Then we will continue to work on the reinforcement activity.  We will work on the cash flow statement and ratio problems from the past few chapters.  
We may start chapter 15 and work on the first section.


Week of April 26, 2021

We will spend most of this week on chapter 14.  We may spend some time finishing the assessment from 13.  For chapter 14 the first section, we will complete the work together and the on your own before we work on the application.  We will probably do the same thing for the second section of the chapter.  Once we get both sections done we will complete the mastery problem and possibly even work on the b test for this chapter.

We will finish chapter 13 this week and take the test over it.  We will work with flash cards to help remember the formulas.

Week of April 12, 2021

We will work on Chapter 13 this week.  We will begin with finishing section 3. Completing the work together and the application.  Then we will work on section 4.  Doing the work together and the on your own before completing the application.  We will then work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Students will continue to work on trying to understand all the formulas and ratio's that go with this chapter.  We should work on the sample test this week.  Completing the A test next week.  We may add a few ratio problems and work on flash cards for some of the ratio's.

Week of April 5, 2021

This week we will work on chapter 13.  We will first work on making a sheet that contains the ratio's and formulas that will be used this chapter.  There are a lot of them.  Then we will start with section one and work our way through the chapter.  We should get at least the first two section done.  Completing the work together and the application for each section.  We will probably get to section three this week.  


Week of March 22, 2021

We will first review chapter 12 and take the A test on it.  Once that is completed we will work on t-account information.  Completing a worksheet that will help for a quiz.  The t account quiz or quizzes will be on Friday.  We will also spend part of a day working on transactions from a reinforcement activity that will be completed in the future.

Week of March 15, 2021

We will complete chapter 12.  Finishing the last two sections of the chapter and the applications for each.  We will probably do more that just the work together for each section as well.  When that is completed we will work on the mastery problem and possibly the sample test if we get the time.  

Week of March 8, 2021

We will first finish chapter 11.  Working on a stock split example and then working on the sample test.  We will spend some time this week with t-accounts.  We will complete the A test by Wednesday.  Then we will begin chapter 12.  We will work on each section completing the work together and the applications.  We should get through the first three sections and the applications.  If we have time we will continue to the last section and complete it.  Probably saving the mastery problem for next week.

Week of March 1, 2021

We will finish chapter 10 on Monday.  And then begin chapter 11.  It is not a real long chapter either.  We will continue corporate accounting transactions and then get to work on dividends.  Then work on Treasury stock.  If we can we will work on the 3rd section which involves buying and selling stock of other corporations.  Students should complete at least the work together and application for each section we cover.  The assignment on friday will be determined upon how much we get done during the week.  Probably either finishing a section, or completing a t-account exercise.  If things go really quick we may get to the mastery problem.

Week of February 22, 2021

Do to the snow from last week, we will still need to spend some time finishing the reinforcement activity from last week.  We will spend around half of the hour on Tuesday on it and then begin the next chapter.  It is a very short chapter introducing corporate accounting.  We should get the first two sections done and the applications that go with them.  We may even work on the mastery problem.

Week of February 15, 2021

We will begin working on a reinforcement activity.  We will spend the entire week on this problem.  Starting with the transactions then proceeding through the rest of the problem.  Students should use the textbook to help with past transactions and problems over the past 5 chapters.

Week of February 8, 2021

We will begin the week with a t-account quiz and then look at the super bowl ads.  Discussing the amount of money spent versus the hopefully income gained.  We will look at an ad meter 
and discuss favorite ads and why.  Once that is done we will finish the sample test and review what we missed.  Also reviewing other parts of the chapter.  We will take the A test on Thursday and complete anything else from the chapter not finished.


Week of February 1, 2021

We will spend the main part of this week working on chapter 9.  There are three sections to chapter 9.  We should get through all the sections.  There will be transactions and adjustments and possible reversing entries.  We will do the work together and an application for each section.  Once we get all the sections done we will work on the mastery problem.  If we get the chance, we will spend time reviewing account balances and account classifications with some short quizzes in the near future.

Week of January 25, 2021
We will continue working on Chapter 8 this week.  First we will work on the last section, 8.3, and complete the work together and the application for that section.  Once that is complete we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  After those are complete we will work on the sample test.  We may spend time on balances of accounts, since we have had many new ones lately.  There will be a test over this chapter the following week.  Probably on Monday but it could be on Wednesday.

Week of January 18, 2021

We will take our assessment over chapter 7.  Then we will continue to chapter 8.  The first section is on notes payable  We will work with interest, dates, and line of credit.  Completing the work together and the application.  Then we will go to prepaid expenses  Discussing what would happen is they were initially recorded as expenses rather than assets.  We will show differences in adjusting, closing, reversing entries.  Then we will work on the work together and the application.  Then if we get time we will work on the last section, accrued expenses.  Working on the work together and the applications.

Week of January 11, 2021

We will continue work on Chapter 7 on plant assets.  First we will finish section 3 about disposing of plant assets.  Completing the work together and the application.  Then we will move to the last section of the chapter and discuss other depreciation methods.  Completing the work together and the application for that section.  If we get those complete we will work on the mastery problem for the rest of the week.  We will have a test over chapter 7 later in the following week.


Week of January 4, 2021

We will start with a short review of what we did 1st semester and then start chapter 7.  First we will discuss plant assets and how they depreciate in value.  We will look at the example situation involving railroad cars and use it.  Then discuss the questions.  Once we have complete that we will go to the first section and cover buying plant assets.  We will discuss buying for cash and on accounts and then the plant asset records.  We will do section 1 work together and the application.  Next we will work on the second section, this will involve determining depreciation expenses, recording them in a plant asset record, and making an appropriate journal entry.  We will be using straight line method for this section and we should complete this section this week.  This will include the work together and the applications.

Week of December 14, 2020 

We will work on chapter 6 this week and finish the chapter.  We will take the A test for this
chapter on Wednesday.  Monday we will finish the chapter, complete application 6-3 and the 
mastery problem.  Then we will work on the sample test.  On Wednesday we will complete
the A test and any other problems that we have not completed.  For Friday you can use it
to complete any old work or work from missing class periods.  I may add an extra credit 
problem.


Week of December 7, 2020

We will finish chapter 5 this week.  Complete the b test and take the A test.  Once we are done with this we will start chapter 6.  We will do as much of it as we can.  It is a short chapter and we should finish the first section this week.  Hoping to complete the work together and the application for it.  If we can we will work on the second section as well.  This chapter mainly deals with how to write off accounts as uncollectible and then collecting on those accounts.  We will discuss two methods of doing this, the direct write-off method and the allowance method.  


Week of November 30, 2020

We will work on Chapter 5 this week.  We will begin with section 5-2.  It will be on FIFO,LIFO, and weighted average on finding inventory cost.  We will do the work together and the application for that section.  Then we will work on section 5-3, which involves a gross profit method and a retail method for finding ending inventory.  Then we will proceed to the mastery problem.  Hopefully we will get the mastery problem done this week.  



Week on November 23, 2020

We will have a short google classroom assignment on Monday and then take our test on Tuesday.  It will be a short test.  We will do a small section of the next chapter, work together 5-1 and application 5-1.  Enjoy the break.


Week of November 16, 2020

We will finish chapter 4 this week  We will spend the first day working on the mastery problem for chapter 4 and possibly reviewing the B test.  Then the next day we will try and take the A test and finish anything else from the chapter that we need to do.  

Week of November 9, 2020

We will continue to work on Chapter 4 this week.  We will start with closing entries and complete the last section of the chapter, completing 4-4 work together and 4-4 application.  Once that is done we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  Then we will review the chapter and work on the sample test.  Test over chapter will be the following week.

Week of November 2, 2020

We will continue working on chapter 4 this week.  After completing section 2, we will continue to the 3rd section that include statements for departmentalized accounting.  Students will complete an income statement, statement of stockholders equity, a balance sheet and a cash flows statement.  We will do this for the work together first and then the application.  If we get through all of this, we will work on closing entries next.  

Week of October 26, 2020

We will spend this week working on chapter 4.  First we will work on adjustments.  Recording then in the general journal, posting them, and then changing the trial balance to the adjusted trial balance.  We will do the work together and the application problem.  Once we have done that we will continue to section two and work on the departmental margin statement.  Hopefully we will get back that and work on the income statement and statement of stockholders equity.  Completing a work together of each before attempting an application.


Week of October 19, 2020

We will finish chapter 3 this week.  Tuesday we will work on the sample test, test b, and finish other problems in the chapter.  Students should complete the mastery problem and the source document problem.  We will take our Assessment, Test A, on Thursday.  Once we have completed it we will introduce the next chapter.  And discuss the adjustments that need to be made for certain accounts.


Week of October 12, 2020

Students should be done with the first section of the chapter.  We will begin the second section, which is on payroll deductions.  We will go through the work together and then students will work on the application.  Once that is complete we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.  We might get a chance to work on the B test.  If we do, we will have take the Part A test on Tuesday the 20th.

Week of October 5, 2020

We will finish any part of the Chapter 2 test not completed and then continue working on chapter 3.  We should finish the first section that includes the work together and application.  Then we will introduce the second section.  This will deal with the transactions about payroll.  We will try and complete the work together and introduce the application.  Hoping to work on it for Thursday.
 
Week of September 28, 2020

We will finish work on chapter 2 this week and take our assessment on chapter 2.  Students should be finishing the sample test on chapter 2 and any other old work.  We will then begin work on chapter 3.  Chapter 3 is on payroll.  We will discuss how employees are paid and remind them of gross and net pay.  Then we will start working on a payroll register.  This week we should complete the first section of the chapter.  Finishing the work together and the applications for that section.

Week of September 21, 2020

We will work on chapter 2 this week.  First we will finish thru the cash receipts journal and posting from it.  Once that is complete students will work on the mastery problem.  We will do part of the 3-s source document problem that follow the mastery.  We may work on part of practice mastery as well but transactions only.  If we get all of the work done we will then begin working on the practice test for chapter 2.  We will complete the Assessment next week for the chapter.



Week of September 14, 2020

This week we will work on Chapter 2 in our accounting II software package.  This chapter is on departmental sales, sales returns and allowance, and cash receipts journals.  We will work on the two sections of this chapter this week.  With each section we will discuss the information presented then work on practice problems (work togethers) and then work on application problems for the sections.  I would like to get each section done this week and the application problems that go with them.  If we can get that done, we will work on the mastery problem for the chapter.


Week of September 6, 2020

We will finish chapter 1 and begin working on the compute software package.  We will work on a few of the application problems and work on the sample test for chapter 1.  That will be test b.  I will assign the chapter 1 test A to work on at a later date.  We may do that take home for this chapter only.  Then we will begin to work on chapter 2.  Working on the first section and the practice problems (work togethers and on your own).  

Week of August 31, 2020

We will continue to work on chapter 1.  We will complete the applications 1-3 and the mastery problem.  I will also have a vocabulary assignment for you to work on.  We will review how to post as well.  Then we will try and get on the new accounting software and explore it.  We will try and determine if we need to take an assessment on paper or begin using the software.

Week of August 24, 2020

We will go through the beginning of year information and then start some short review problems.  Once we have completed those we will work on chapter 1.  We will discuss the chart of accounts and file maintenance before we go to the first problems.  The first problems we do in chapter 1 will involve the purchases journal and recording purchases returns and allowances.  We will work on 1-2 work together then work on application problem.  We will go through adding up the journals and posting to the accounts.  Then we will work on the cash payments journal.  This week we will finish an application problem on the purchases journal, complete practice examples of the cash payments journal, and review account balances.

Week of March 16, 2020

We will continue to work on the mastery problem for chapter 13.  Once we complete it we will work on reviewing for the assessment over chapter 13 and complete the study guide.  Our assessment should be Thursday and/or Friday.

Week of March 9, 2020

We will be working on Chapter 13 this week.  We will begin the week finishing, together, application 13-3 and discussing application 13-4.  Once we get that accomplished we will spend the rest of the week on the mastery problem.  It is a very long problem.  Students should try to get at least half of it done this week.  We should have an Assessment later the following week.

Week of March 2, 2020

We will begin chapter 13 this week.  We will start with finding the income tax adjustment and finding the correct amount of tax on the income before taxes.  We will then do application 13-2 and turn it in.  Once that is complete we will also finish 13-1 application.  After those two are done we will work with completing a work sheet that will involve many adjustments.  As a class we will spend the rest of the week on 13-3 application.  That will include an income statement, a balance sheet and a stockholder's equity statement.  We will discuss adjusting and closing entries as well.  If we get all of this done by Friday we will start the mastery problem.

Week of February 24, 2020

We will finish chapter 12 this week and begin chapter 13.  Students will complete the mastery problem on Monday and then do a sample test problem and other examples.  Our assessment will be on Wednesday.  Then we will begin chapter 13.  We will work on the tax adjustment and then the application with it.  Once that is done we will work on a work sheet and the adjustments that will begin it.

Week of February 17, 2020

We will finish the assessment on chapter 11.  Then we will work on Chapter 12.  We will start with section 12-1 selling stock for more or less than the value, then 12-2 treasury stock and finally section 12-3 bond sinking funds.  We will do the work together and the application for each section.  We will start the study guide this week.

Week of February 10, 2020

We will finish chapter 11 this week and have an assessment on Wednesday or Thursday.  Students this week will complete application 11-4, 11-5, 11-R, Study guide 11, and work on a sample assessment problem.  

Week of February 3, 2020

We will finish chapter 10 on Monday and take our Assessment on Tuesday.  Then we will start chapter 11 and spend the rest of the week on it.  It starts a corporate accounting unit.  We will do the first three sections and the work togethers and applications for each section.  We should get the mastery problem done this week.  I will hand out most of the applications and the study guide for this chapter.  We will have an assessment on chapter 11 the following week before parent teacher conferences.

We will take our Chapter 9 Assessment we did not get to take last week on Monday.  Tuesday we will work on 10-1 section, completing the work together and the application.  And pass out most of the work for the chapter.  Wednesday we will work on the second section do the work together and two short applications on Unearned rent and interest income.  Thursday we will work on mastery problem (maybe the recycle also) and Friday we will complete the study guide.  We will have an assessment on chapter 10 on Monday or Tuesday.  Probably Tuesday.

Week of January 20, 2020

We will finish chapter 9 this week and have an assessment on it Thursday.  Students will complete the mastery problem, study guide for chapter 9, and work on the recycle problem.  We will then review with other samples.  Once the assessment is complete we will begin chapter 10.  We will do the first sections of the chapter that is on notes receivable.  Finding interest receivable and interest income.  And hopefully complete the 10-1 application for this section.

Week of January 13, 2020

We will be working on Chapter 9 this week.  Students will start with a business problem on interest and then work on section 9-1.  After that we will discuss prepaid expense vs assets.  Student will learn a different way to do those transactions and how to do adjusting entries.  This week we will complete work togethers for sections 9-1 thru 9-3 and complete applications 9-1, 9-2, 9-3, 9-mastery and study guide for chapter 9.  We will work on the recycle problem to if time allows.  Assessment will be the following week.

Week of January 6, 2020

We will begin the week with a short review and a t-account activity.  T-account Quiz will be either Thursday or Friday.  We will discuss part of Chapter 8 that we did not get finished before the end of the semester.  Students will work on straight-line, sum of the years digits and double declining balance methods of depreciation.  We will do an application together and then they will do a problem.  There will be a short quiz on this on Thursday or Friday.
Students will then begin chapter 9 on Friday is we can.  We will work on finding interest and due date of a note.

Semester exam week.  We will review for our semester exam and finish problems from chapter 8.


Week of December 9, 2019

The chapter 7 take-home assessment will be due on Tuesday.  We will work on chapter 8 this week.  We will work on the first two or three work togethers before we go strictly to the applications for the chapter.  This chapter covers plant assets and will focus on buying them, finding depreciation on them (using a variety of methods) and then disposing of them.  We will do many applications this chapter.  We should complete 8-1 through 8-9 for sure.  Then we will work on the mastery problem.  Students will learn about depletion too.  

Week of December 2, 2019

We will work on chapter 7 this week.  This chapter is on the direct write off method and the allowance method to write off accounts.  The direct method is section 7-1 and the allowance method is section two.  The allowance method has many different parts to it.  We will do the work together for 7-1 thru 7-3 and then the applications 7-1 thru 7-4.  Then we will work on the mastery problem and the study guide.  We will have an assessment over this chapter next week.

Week of November 25, 2019

We will finish chapter 6 and take our Assessment on Tuesday.  Monday we will review and finish any work from the chapter.


Week of November 18, 2019

We will work on chapter 6 this week.  The chapter is on inventories, how to do depreciation, and turnover ratios.  We will do the work togethers for 6-1 thru 6-3.  Then we will work on the applications 6-1 thru 6-5.  If we get all this done will we do the study guide as well.  We hope to get to the mastery problem and do it on Friday.  

Week of November 11, 2019

We will continue working on Chapter 5.  Finishing problem 5-4 first then movie onto the mastery problem.  Once that is complete we will do the study guide and review anything else in the chapter we need to work on.  We should have an assessment on the chapter on Thursday.  Then we will begin chapter 6 on friday.

Week of November 4, 2019

We will work on the reinforcement activity on Monday and part of another day.  It should be finished to where we decide to stop and turned in by Thursday.  We will begin working on chapter 5, which is on vouchers.  Students will complete applications 5-1, 5-2, 5-3 and 5-4 this week.  We will also work on the study guide.  If we get the chance we will work on the mastery problem on Friday.  An assessment will be the middle of next week.

Week of October 28, 2019

We will finish the assessment from chapter 4 on Monday.  Then we will begin chapter 5.  It is on the voucher system.  We will start with vouchers and the voucher register.  Then we will go to the check register and finally work on memorandums, payroll, and other changes.  We should do the work togethers for the first three sections and applications 5-1,5-2,5-3,5-4 and begin the study guide for the chapter.

Week of October 21, 2019

We will continue working on the mastery problem for chapter 4.  We should have it done on Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest.  After this is done, we will work on the study guide and sample assessment problems.  We will review worksheets, department statement of gross profit, adjusting and closing entries and more.  The assessment should be on Friday.

Week of October 14, 2019

We will continue working on chapter 4.  We will finish the examples and problems 4-6 and 4-7 before we start the mastery problem.  It will take at least 3 days to do the mastery problem.  Students will have the opportunity to check their work at different points to correct any errors before continuing.  We may work on the study guide some this week too.  Once the mastery problem is done we will review assessment sample problems.  An assessment will not be until the following week.

Week of October 7, 2019

We will continue to work on Chapter 4.  This week we will complete application 4-5 (worksheet) and then work on 4-6 application.  This application will include an income statement, a stockholder's equity statement, and a balance sheet.  If we get all of this done we will work on 4-7 and complete the study guide for the chapter.
If we get it all done we will start the mastery problem.

Week of September 30, 2019

We will finish chapter 3 and have an assessment on it this week.  Students will do a sample assessment problem before the assessment.  Once the assessment is done we will start chapter 4.  It is a very large chapter that work on financial statements for using departments as part of the company.  We will do the first few applications this week and start a worksheet by Friday.  We will work on estimated gross profit and an estimated departmentalized gross profit statement.

Week of September 23, 2019

We will be working on Chapter 3 this week.  Which is on payroll.  Students will finish 3-5 application and then begin the mastery problem.  Once we get that problem accomplished until the journal transactions we will go back and learn how to complete the journal transaction using applications 3-6 and 3-7 to help us, then we will complete the mastery problem.  Students will also work on the study guide this week. As assessment should be the following week.

Week of September 16, 2019

Complete any missing work from chapter 2 and discuss the assessment.  Then we will work on Chapter 3 the rest of the week.  It is on payroll.  We will complete applications 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, and 3-5 this week.  Benefits records, time cards, commission records, and payroll registers will be covered.  Students will determine an employee's gross pay, find the deductions, and then determine net pay.  Once they have done that they will complete a payroll register and then transfer any needed information onto an employee's earnings record.

Week of September 9, 2019

This week we will finish up chapter 2.  We will first finish the mastery problem.  Reviewing the process on how to figure discounts, taxes on them and the actual amount a customer pays with a discount.  Students will work on a study guide and then on sample test questions and part of a recycle problem.  We will also review part of an hour for an assessment.  We will have an assessment on Thursday and/or Friday.

Week of September 2, 2019

We will work on chapter 2 this week.  Students will complete 2-1 application first and then we will discuss a cash receipts journal and the different types of transactions that will go in that journal.  Once that is complete we will do 2-2 work together, 2-2 and 2-3 applications, and finally the study guide and the recycle problem for the chapter.  Need more time we will assess at the end of next week.

Week of August 26, 2019

Students will complete chapter 1 this week and have an assessment on it.  We will complete the mastery problem, work on a sample test problem, and part of a recycle problem.  We will spend part of two days on the assessment.  Once that is complete we will begin chapter 2 and start with the sales journal and sales return and allowance journal.  Completing application 2-1 for a grade.

Week of August 19, 2019

This week we will work on chapter 1.  Students will complete applications 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, and the study guide.  If we complete all of these we will work on the recycle problem for the chapter.
We will discuss putting transactions in the purchases journal, purchases returns and allowance journal, and cash payments journal.  Then we will review and discuss posting to the journals and proving a journal.  We will review a sample bank statement as well.  An assessment will be early next week either Monday or Tuesday.

Week of August 12, 2019

We will begin will general introductions of the class, and the students. Complete the necessary rules and requirements information and then begin reviewing.  We will mainly review t-accounts, the accounting equation, and how a transaction affects accounts.  Students will work on different t-account types of transactions.
Once that is complete we will begin the first chapter in the text and do the first application or two.  We will also spend some time discussion accounting and different types of jobs in the field.





Week of May 20

We will complete a career project and then present it to the class.  Once that is done we will start reviewing for the final.  The final in here starts on Friday.  Our review will consist of practice problems that will be similar to the final.  The final will be almost all, if not all, problems.

Week of May 13

We are still working on Chapter 14.  We will complete a sample test problem, complete the study guide, and probably do a shorter review problem.  The assessment will be on Wednesday/Thursday.  We will work on a short accounting/business/career activity for the rest of the week.

Week of May 6

We will continue to work on Chapter 14.  We will complete the recycle problem and then work on a sample test.  Students should finish the study guide.  Students are still working on making budgets from information given and forecasting that to the next year.  They should be able to do the sales budget, purchases budget, budgeted income statement and the cash flow statements.  We will have an assessment on Friday.

Week of April 29

We will continue to work on Chapter 14 this week.  We will begin with the mastery problem this week.  Students will finish the study guide.  We will work on a recycle problem and these are finished.  Thursday will be the DOT foods trip.  We should be ready for an assessment early the following week.

Week of April 22

We will begin working on Chapter 14 this week.  We will complete the work togethers for 14-1, 14-2 and 14-3.  Students should complete application 14-1, 14-2, and 14-3 this week.
We will spend this week working on budgets, and sales projections.  Then taking those numbers and using them to estimate revenue and expenses.

Week of April 15

This week we will be working on our computer simulation.  After each assignment be sure to print the needed work that I will tell you to print.  We should get all of the computer simulation done this week.  Turn in the printouts as you complete each section.  Then be sure to print out each financial statement you are asked to complete.

Week of April 8

We will continue working on the reinforcement activity for most of the week.  Students should complete the last parts.  Completing a balance sheet and the ratios that follow it.  Then they should complete the adjusting, closing and reversing entries.  Once that is all complete it should be turned in.  We will begin a short computer problem if we can.

Week of April 1

We will continue work on the reinforcement activity.  Student will complete the worksheet first this week and then continue to the income statement, statement of stockholders equity, and finally the balance sheet.  Each statement has a few ratios or other work that will need to be completed.  Students should get through a minimum of step nine this week.  We will finish this problem next week.

Week of March 18

We will finish chapter 13 this week.  Our assessment is planned for Tuesday.  We will work on a large reinforcement activity.  Students will start it this week and work on the transactions for the activity.  

Week of March 11

We will be spending this week working on the mastery problem for chapter 13.  Students should complete a worksheet, income statement, statement of stockholders equity, and a balance sheet.  Those forms will have other work such as ratios and earnings per share.  Once all this is done we will work on adjusting, closing, and reversing entries to finish the problem.  We will have an assessment the following week.

Week of March 4

This week we will work on chapter 13.  We will complete 13-3 application, discuss adjusting and closing entries, and then start the mastery problem and complete the study guide.  When I am at a conference they will watch shark tank and do a worksheet on the episode.

Week of February 25

This week we will work on Chapter 13.  We will start with a bigger worksheet.  There are a few new adjustments including federal income tax.  We will then do all the adjustments and begin to complete a worksheet.  Once that is done we will work on other statements.  We will complete application 13-1, 13-2, and 13-3 this week.  Once those are complete we will review adjusting and closing entries.  If we get the opportunity we will start the mastery problem late in week.

Week of February 18

We will finish chapter 12 this week and have an assessment.  Tuesday we will finish the mastery problem and begin the recycle problem.  Wednesday we will finish any work and review for the assessment.  Assessment will be on Thursday.  Friday we will begin chapter 13.  We will work on part of a worksheet.  

Week of February 11

We will begin chapter 12 and have some t-account quizzes.  Chapter 12 discusses selling stock for more or less than value, treasury stock, and bonds with the bond sinking fund.  We should get each section done this week, completing a work together for each sections and an application.  We should have two t-account quizzes this week, probably on Wednesday and Thursday.

Week of February 4

We will work on Chapter 11 this week.  Monday we will complete 11-2 application and go onto 11-3 work together and 11-4 application.  We will discuss terms with corporations  and dividends.  Then we will complete the mastery problem and the recycle problem.  Students will also complete the study guide. We will have an assessment on Thursday or Friday.

Week of January 28

We will finish chapter 10 and have an assessment on it Tuesday.  Monday we will review part of a sample test and other review questions.  We will also look at applications you have complete for this chapter.  Once completed with this chapter we will begin Chapter 11.  This unit will be on more corporate accounting.  Chapter 11 will introduce us to the unit.  This week we will complete the first three applications 11-1,11-2, and 11-3.  We will also do the work together that accompanies them.  We will discuss many new accounts and the forming of a corporation.  It is a short chapter and we will have an assessment on it the following week.

Week of January 21

We will work on chapter 10 this week.  Students will complete applications 10-1, 10-2, 10-3, 10-4 and the study guide.  This is a very short chapter and we complete it all this week.  We are discussing unearned and accrued revenue and the adjusting and reversing entries that may accompany them.

Week of January 14

We will finish chapter 9, have an assessment and begin chapter 10.  To finish chapter 9 we will complete a Recycle problem and review the chapter and the applications.  Students will then take the Assessment.  That should be on Tuesday.  We will then work on chapter 10.  There are only two sections to this chapter and both are short.  So we will complete each of them the applications that go with them and work on the mastery problem this week.  If we get time we will complete the study guide for the chapter.

Week of January 7

We will have a short review/introduction then begin chapter 9.  This chapter will discuss recording prepaid expenses as expenses rather than assets.  We will compare the old and new methods.  Examples will be covered and then we will do sections 9-1 thru 9-3 this week.  Students will need to determine interest receivable for notes that cover more than one fiscal period. We will discuss adjusting, closing, and reversing entries as well.  Friday we should work on the mastery problem.

Week of December 17

Week of December 10

We will finish up chapter 8 this week.  Working on sample quiz problems and sample test problems for depreciating, and discarding plant assets.
Our assessment will be on Wednesday and Thursday.  Then we will begin to review for our final on Friday and finish any other work that we need to complete.

Week of December 3

We will continue working on chapter 8 this week.  Starting with plant asset disposal and application 8-5.  Then we will work on different depreciation methods, straight-line method vs sum of the years digits and double declining balance (application 8-6).  Then we will work on other methods of depreciation and do problems 8-8 through 8-10.  Finally we will work on the mastery problem at the end of the week.  If all of these are done we will work on the study guide.

Week of November 26

We will be working on chapter 8 this week.  It involves plant assets.  We will first purchase them and then work on the plant asset record, find depreciation using different methods, and then get rid of plant assets.  Students should complete applications 8-1, 8-2, 8-3, and 8-4 this week.  We will work on the first three work togethers.
 
Week of November 19

We will continue work on chapter 7.  Students will do applications 7-4, 7-5, mastery problem, study guide 7 and a review problem.  We will finish up any of those on Tuesday and have a take home assessment on chapter 7 over break.

Week of November 12

We will complete chapter 6 this week and have an assessment on Wednesday.  Students will complete the recycle problem and the study guide.  We will work a review problem part of Tuesday and finish any notes from the chapter.
Then we will work on Chapter 7 the rest of the week.  Direct write off method of accounts receivable, application 7-1, then the allowance method after that.  Application 7-2.  We will look at other ways to estimate the uncollectible accounts expense.

Week of November 5

We will finish chapter 5 on Monday.  Completing the study guide and the recycle problem.  Once those are complete we will start chapter 6 on Wednesday.  We will complete the first few sections and the applications with them by Friday.  Spending some time with FIFO, LIFO, and weighted average.  

Week of October 29

We will finish part of the reinforcement activity on Monday and then go to chapter 5.  This will be on the voucher system.  This week we will complete applications 5-1,5-2,5-3, 5-4 and the mastery problem.  If we have time we will begin the study guide for the chapter.  We will be learning about the voucher register, the check register, and how to complete a voucher.

Week of October 22

We will finish chapter 4 and take the assessment on Tuesday.  Monday will be spent working on review problems.  Once we are done with the assessment we will begin a large reinforcement problem that will take the rest of the week and part of the next week.

Week of October 15

We will first complete application 4-7 and discuss adjusting and closing entries.  Once that is complete we will work on the Mastery Problem for the chapter.  That will take many days to complete.  After it is finished we will complete the study guide and an accounting cycle picture.  An assessment over this chapter will be Friday if we get finished with everything else.  If not we will review monday and have an assessment on Tuesday.

Week of October 8

We will continue to work on chapter 4.  Students will start by working on the adjustment section of a worksheet and then completing the worksheet.  That is problem 4-5.  Once completed with the worksheet we will continue to application 4-6.  This application involves many statements, including an income statement, balance sheet and owner's equity statement.  We should get most of, if not all of the application done this week.  Once it is done we will look at adjusting and closing entries.  We will start the mastery problem next week.

Week of October 1

We will complete the assessment from chapter 3 first and collect completed applications from last chapter.  Once that is done we will work on chapter 4.  Working on departmental statements.  This week we will complete the first work together and then applications 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, and 4-4.  If we get the opportunity we will work on adjustments on a worksheet on Thursday.

Week of September 24

We will finish chapter 3 on payroll this week and have an assessment.  Students will first complete the mastery problem after we use 3-6 and 3-7 as a guide on how employers make payments for payroll and other transactions.  Once this is complete we will finish the study guide for the chapter and then work on part of the Recycle problem as review for the assessment.  The assessment will be on Thursday or Friday.  We may work more on t-accounts and quizzes late in the week if we have time.

Week of September 17
This week we will work on chapter 3, which is payroll.  We will work on time cards, benefits records, commission records, and payroll registers.  Students will complete the first applications with teacher help until we begin to work on the mastery problem.  Which is problem 3-8.  We will be working on that problem at the end of the week.  Some t-account review will also be completed this week with a quiz on t-accounts at the end of the week or beginning of the next week.

Week of September 10
We will finish any of the mastery problem not complete from Friday and continue to work on the study guide.  We will then complete the recycle problem and review transactions and other work that will be similar to the assessment.  We will begin the assessment on Wednesday and will probably use part of the day Thursday to complete it.  Once that is done we will discuss some accounting concepts and careers we have not yet mentioned and introduce the next chapter that is on payroll.  We will do the first application if we can.

Week of September 3

We will quickly review the last chapter and the similarities with the new one.  For this week we will work on sales journal, sales returns and allowance journals and cash receipts journals.  Students will know how to use each journal, post from the journals, and prove the journals.  Applications that should be completed this week will be application 2-1, 2-2, and 2-3.  We will also begin work on the study guide for the chapter.

Week of August 27
Student will work on transactions in the cash payments journal first, application 1-3.  Then we will work on the mastery problem. Once that is complete we will review the chapter and do a recycle problem.  An assessment will be on Thursday or Friday depending on the progress of the students.


Week of August 20
Introduction to the class.  Rules, procedures and things that will change from last year.  Review some of accounting I, do some transactions and discuss account balances.  Then we will work on the first chapter.  We will discuss accounting and employment and then go to applications.  This week we will work on the first three applications for the chapter and the study guide for chapter 1.









Week of May 21

Finish the review problems for our final.  You will need to be sure to practice those problems.  Sample journals can be given to use to help you review.

Week of May 14

You should turn in anything you completed from the past chapter.  We will spend two days on a career project and present some of them on Wednesday.  We will start doing review problems to help you prepare for our final.

Week of May 7

We will complete chapter 14 this week.  Complete the recycle problem, then finish the study guide for the chapter, and finally work on a sample assessment problem.  Once that is complete we will have a problem assessment for the chapter.  If we get this all complete this week we will begin a short career activity project.

Week of April 30

We will begin the week working on the mastery problem for chapter 14.  That should be completed by the end of the hour on Tuesday.  Students will then do part of a recycle problem and finish the study guide.  We will have an assessment over chapter 14 on Friday.

Week of April 23

We will first work on application problem 14-2 completing both sections.  Distribution of expenses and then an income statement per a budgeted situation.  Once that is complete we will work on 14-3 application and we could get to the mastery problem by Friday.  Tuesday will be our trip to DOT foods with the CVE class.  

Week of April 16

The first part of the week we will spend finishing the computer simulation.  We will finish the transactions for each section, then do the trial balance and finally complete any adjusting and closing entries.  Students will also print out the financial statements required for each section.  And complete a bank reconciliation.  There is also three total think like an accountant section that students should complete.  Remember to submit each section to be graded and turn in anything that you are required to print out.  Once this is complete we will begin chapter 14 on budgeting.  Starting with an intro and then to section 14-1.

Week of April 9

Students will complete the reinforcement activity that we worked on before spring break.  It should be almost done already.  Then we will begin a computer activity that will take part of a week.  Students will complete sample transactions is a journal given to them and eventually do financial statements for the sample company that they are working with.  We may do work on t-accounts if we get the opportunity.

Week of March 26

Students are still working on the large reinforcement activity.  This week they should be already through the worksheet and work on statements such as income statement, statement of stockholder's equity, and balance sheet.  There are some ratio's and other math that will accompany each statement.  If they are all done with these they can continue to the adjusting, closing, and reversing entries.  Those are the last steps of the problem.

Week of March 19

This week we will be working on a large reinforcement activity.  We will begin the week finishing the transactions and totalling and proving the journals.  Once that is complete we will move onto the worksheet.  First making all of the adjustments except for the income tax adjustment.  Next students will determine the income tax adjustment and finish the worksheet.  If they get the worksheet completed they will continue to the income statement.

Week of March 12

This week we will finish chapter 13 and have an assessment on it.  Students will have work to turn in once the chapter is done.  The applications we did together and on your own for the chapter.  This will include 13-1, 13-2, 13-3, 13-4, and the mastery problem.  They should also turn in the review problems we did.  Once all this is complete we will begin a large reinforcement activity.  This week we will just work on transactions for the activity.

Week of March 5

This week we will first finish the mastery problem.  Students should finish the last statement, balance sheet, and the information that accompanies it.  Then they should do all the adjusting, closing, and reversing entries.  We will watch a video on one day.  Students will spend time working on parts of a sample test the rest of the week to prepare them for the assessment over this chapter.  The assessment will be on Friday or Monday. 
We may do part of a recycle problem as well on Friday.

Week of February 26

This week we will spend on the mastery problem for chapter 13.  It is a very long problem with many steps to it.  Use thc application problem we did before it to help you with the mastery.  We will start the week working on the work sheet, then advance to the statement of stockholder's equity, and the balance sheet.  There are many ratio's and percentages that will need to be computed as well and eventually adjusting, closing, and reversing entries.

Week of February 19

We will continue working on chapter 13 this week.  Finish 13-3 application (which will be statement of stockholder's equity, balance sheet and the ratio's and percents that go with it).  Then we will take notes on 13-4 and finally start the mastery problem.  We should start that on Thursday and it will take a few days of the following week.

Week of February 12

This week we will start chapter 13.  We will first work on the two new adjustments.  One on organizational costs and the other is on federal income tax.  We will work on 13-1 work together then on application 13-2 which is on how to find the income tax for an income.  Then we will work on 13-1 application.  This is a long work sheet.  It will take two class periods to complete.  Once it is done we will discuss income statements and start application 13-3.  

Week of February 5

This week we will complete chapter 12.  We will first complete the last section, 12-3, on bonds.  Doing 12-3 work together and 12-3 application.  Then we will do 12-4 Mastery Problem and the study guide for the chapter.  Once that is done we will do the recycle problem.  There will be a t-account quiz on the front page of the t-account review worksheet on Thursday.  The chapter assessment will be on Friday.

Week of January 29

We will finish chapter 11 this week.  Recycle problem on Monday and review.  Tuesday will be our assessment on Chapter 11.  Wednesday we will work on new t accounts.  The rest of the week we will spend on chapter 12.  Working on the first two section of the chapter.  We will work on 12-1 and 12-2 work togethers and the applications for each of them.
We may start the study guide this week and will have a t-account quiz the following week.

Week of January 22

We will finish chapter 10 on Monday, do a review and a recycle problem.
Tuesday will be the assessment.
Wednesday through Friday will be spent on chapter 11.  We will do the first three sections, they are all short, and do the work togethers and applications that accompany them.  We will also work on the study guide.  Students should complete the mastery problem on Friday.
This chapter will  center on the transactions involved in a corporation and the start up of it.

Week of January 15

Students will begin chapter 10.
Discuss revenue earned and not received vs revenue received and not yet earned.
Students this week will complete the following:
10-1 and 10-2 work togethers
10-1, 10-2, 10-3, and 10-4 applications
We will also work on the study guide for the chapter.

Week of January 8

We will complete chapter 9 this week and have an assessment on Friday.
Students will complete the study guide, a recycle problem, a mastery problem and the 9-3 application.  We will review sample questions and any issues with the chapter part of the hour on Thursday.

Week of january 1

This is a short week.  We will do the first two sections of chapter 9.  Work togethers will be done together and the applications should be turned in for a grade.  We will begin the study guide.

Week of December 11

We will finish chapter 8 this week and have an assessment on it Wednesday that could continue into Thursday.

Week of November 27

We will work on chapter 8.  Discussing plant assets and depreciation on them.  We will begin with purchasing the plant assets and completing a plant asset record.  Then we will discuss depreciation methods.  Once that is complete we will start disposing of plant assets and recording any gains or losses that occur.

Then we will work of part of 8-4 application together

Week of November 20

We completed the Reinforcement activity from last week through the transactions.  Then proved each journal and did the cash proof.  Students should have also completed a bank statement.

Week of November 13

We will first finish chapter 7.  Do a review on Monday and take the assessment on Tuesday.
Once that is complete we will work the remainder of the week on a reinforcement activity.  It will begin with transactions from early in the year and then work into financial statements.  Students will be given a few check figures as they proceed to determine how they are doing.  This week they should complete all the transactions, total the journals, and prove cash. Once that is complete they can work on the worksheet.  

Week of November 6

This week we will spend on chapter 7 and learn the two main methods to write off an account as uncollectible.  Monday we will spend time on the direct write off method.  Completing the work together and the application for 7-1.  Students will then do the vocabulary section of the study guide and the section applying to that section of the chapter.  The rest of the week will be spent on the allowance method and the different ways to do that and the other information that will come from it.  Students will complete the following applications this week; 7-2,7-3,7-4,7-5,7-6, 7-mastery and then complete the study guide for the chapter.

Week of October 30

This week we will spend working on chapter 6 and having an assessment on Friday.  First we will work on determining estimated ending inventory using an old method, gross profit, and a new method, retail.  We will complete the work together for section 6-3 and then the application.  I will begin 6-4 application with them and they will finish the problem.  Then we will work on the mastery problem (6-5) for the chapter.  Once that is complete we will finish any notes or information we have not yet covered.  Students should also complete the study guide by Wednesday.  We will next do the recycle problem, 6-R, and then review for our assessment.  The assessment will be done by Friday.

Week of October 23
We will work on the finishing chapter 5.  Complete the recycle problem and review any questions on it.  Finish the mastery problem and study guide for the chapter.  We will then take an assessment on chapter 5.
Once that is complete we will begin chapter 6.  Discussion of inventory procedures and stock records.  We will do the work togethers on 6-1 and 6-2 and then proceed to the applications for each.  Each application should be done by the end of the day on Friday.
